Polyester filament thread

    Polyester filament is made of polyester filament. Polyester is an important variety of synthetic fiber, is the trade name of polyester fiber in China. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a kind of fiber-forming polymer, which is made of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) or dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and ethylene glycol (MEG) through esterification, transesterification and polycondensation. It is a kind of fiber-forming polymer, which is spun and treated. The so-called polyester filament, is the length of more than 1000 meters of silk, filament winding into a ball.

Characteristics of polyester filament

Strength: the strength of polyester fiber is nearly 1 times higher than that of cotton and 3 times higher than that of wool, so polyester fabric is strong and durable.

Heat resistance: it can be used at - 70 ℃ ~ 170 ℃, which is the best heat resistance and thermal stability of synthetic fibers.

Elasticity: the elasticity of polyester is close to that of wool, and its wrinkle resistance is better than other fibers. The fabric is wrinkle free and has good shape retention.

Wear resistance: the wear resistance of polyester is second only to nylon, and ranks second in synthetic fiber.

Water absorption: polyester has low water absorption and moisture regain, and good insulation performance. However, due to low water absorption, large static electricity generated by friction, and poor natural dye adsorption performance, high temperature and high pressure dyeing method is generally used for polyester dyeing.

Dyeability: due to the lack of hydrophilic groups or dye acceptors, the dyeability of polyester is poor. Disperse dyes or non-ionic dyes can be used for dyeing, but the dyeing conditions are more stringent.

Application of polyester filament

As a kind of garment fiber, polyester fabric has the effect of wrinkle free and easy to iron after washing. Polyester is often blended or interwoven with various fibers, such as cotton polyester, wool polyester, etc., which is widely used in various clothing materials and decorative materials. Polyester can be used in conveyor belt, tent, canvas, cable, fishing net, etc. in industry, especially polyester cord used for tire is close to nylon in performance. Polyester can also be used in electrical insulation materials, acid resistant filter cloth, pharmaceutical industry cloth and so on. Synthetic fiber has been widely used in various fields of national economy because of its high strength, wear resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, high temperature resistance, light weight, thermal insulation, good electrical insulation and no fear of mildew.

Polyester filament and chemical staple fiber
